I don’t understand why this rule is in place. I really would like to hear the reasoning behind it.
I have never been banned from a server because I spoke a different language
First Reason: The server is missing out on a lot of players. Gmod itself is losing players by the day. 2017 was the last time we hit 70k players a day and these days we are doing 30k a day.
Of these 30k players a day only around 1500 players a day is German. Only 5% is a small market to pick players from.
Second reason: Roleplay perspective. I have lived in another country for a while. They won’t kick me out, because I speak dutch.
I might find people and the server that only speak German, but that's my problem. I used to play a mafiaRP server and there was a family that only spoke Italian and I thought that was a great addition to the roleplay.
Yes, there is a language barrier, but you just have to find your way around it. Just like in the real world. The way I learned to speak English is literally by playing games and trying to communicate with people that spoke the language.
On the server, I can just make friends that can teach me or translate for me if necessary.
I can understand that staff might not speak English, but there are ways around that as well. There will always be a staff member or player that will speak English to help out. If not, forums is a good place for me to fight any bans you may get.
I hope that you guys will take this unban repeal into consideration.
